The Helium Network is set to implement significant changes following the community's approval of HIP 138, aiming to streamline operations and enhance the utility of HNT tokens.
Unified Rewards: Starting January 2025, the network will cease emissions of MOBILE and IOT tokens, transitioning to HNT as the sole reward for all network activities. This move is designed to simplify the user experience and increase HNT's utility.
Implications for Stakeholders:
IoT Hotspots: Will transition from earning IOT to HNT rewards.
Mobile Hotspots: Will switch from earning MOBILE to HNT rewards.
Helium Mobile Subscribers:
Rewards: Discovery Mapping and referral program incentives will be issued in HNT instead of MOBILE.
Bill Payments: HNT will become the default cryptocurrency for bill payments, though MOBILE payments will still be accepted.
Token Holders:
HNT Holders: No immediate changes; future governance proposals may streamline participation without the need to swap tokens.
MOBILE and IOT Holders: While new emissions will end, existing tokens can be exchanged for HNT via the Helium Wallet or decentralized applications like Jupiter.
Governance: Current governance and staking mechanisms remain unchanged, with potential future iterations under community discussion.
Unclaimed Tokens: Tokens earned before January 2025 will remain claimable as IOT and MOBILE; holders can choose to convert them to HNT at their discretion.
Swap Rates: Final swap rates will be determined after emissions cease. Token holders can exchange their tokens for HNT at any time using available platforms.
Optimal Swap Timing: There's no guaranteed favorable swap rate; holders should monitor market conditions and swap based on individual preferences.
Token Utilization: Both IOT and MOBILE tokens can be converted to HNT using the swap feature in the Helium App or other decentralized applications.
December 6, 2024: Initial emissions to the MOBILE treasury commenced.
January 2025: Full transition to HNT rewards; MOBILE and IOT emissions cease. An estimated redemption rate for MOBILE and IOT will be available.
August 1, 2025: Additional HNT emissions to the Mobile Treasury conclude, finalizing the redemption rate for MOBILE holders.

In the past weeks we have successfully integrated $MOBILE Genesis mining rewards into heliumtracker.
$MOBILE is still in genesis, meaning it has no market price yet, but we have already seen a few wallets with multiple million $MOBILE tokens.

You can enable Realtime Notifications or Push Notifications for $Mobile mining rewards in your account settings.

The transition from helium to "light hotspots" is complete. As most of you have noticed, the update did not go smoothly and has resulted in the loss of POC rewards for a few days.
With the update, validators will take over the job of generating beacons and therefore our hotspots will no longer need to sync the blockchain. This will ensure that the network will be more stable in the future and fewer hotspots will be offline.

We also released our HeliumTracker.io API a few weeks ago. You can use this to use data from your account in your own tools.
You can also define a webhook URL in your account to which all realtime notifications will be sent.

You can now send payout receipts via email to your hosts when paying your comisssions.
* Monthly Report via Email
Long awaited by many: You can now also have your Monthly Reports sent via Emails: this feature is available for your account as well as for your hosts/contacts.

As previously announced, we are already working behind the scenes with HotspotRF.com to share our Dedicated Blockchain Servers (ETLs). This has given us the opportunity to take our Blockchain Servers offline and perform important maintenance.
We will continue to deepen our cooperation with HotspotRF in the coming week.
Today we released a new version of our HeliumTracker mobile app.
This version fixes issues with In App Purchases so it is important to update before you purchase a membership through the app.
In the old version it happened that some of you bought duplicate memberships and paid for them twice.
Unfortunately, we cannot actively refund duplicate payments. You have to request a refund in the AppStore or PlayStore, which we will of course refund.

We have finally completed a huge milestone: The HeliumTracker.io Mobile App 1.0 is now officially available in the Apple Appstore and the Google Playstore.
Thanks again to all the beta testers who helped us put the finishing touches on the app.
